Goals: JavaScript, Client Side Processing, AJAX
A friend was running a NFL pool so I offered to create a web app for it. My technical goal was to create a fast interface with much of the work done on the client side. That seemed to work. Thanks to NFL.com's feed, live updates did, too. What didn't work were my picks. I "retired" after a few weeks.
Goals: PHP, MySQL
Taking inspiration from Celtics star "Air Intangibles" Brian Scalabrine, I ran a March Madness Pool to learn about building a database-driven web site. I did this for three years, making internal and external improvements with each iteration.
